Description: The Story of Our Queen by Enid Blyton
14-page book about Queen Elizabeth II from her birth to her Coronation.
Published in 1953 by Frederick Muller LTD, London, England
History of Use: The book was sent to Sheila Main by "Mum Shackelton." Mum Shackelton welcomed Canadian soldiers on leve to her home during World War II. Sheila's father, Ross Main, was one of these soldiers and kept in touch with her until her death in the 1950s. Mum Shackelton sent an alphabet book to Sheila and to her brother Eric when they were born. The book about Queen Elizabeth II arrived around 1952*, probably, along with Eric's alphabet book. The book was a favourite bedtime storybook of Sheila's - but not of her parents because it was so long.
